Cree – Early Childs Snowshoes with Pom Pom Ca. 1860’s
Here we have a wonderful Indian Made and used Childs Snowshoes.
It is by the Eastern Canadian Cree Indians. It is circa, mid-late
1800’s. They were painted green and red with red pom-poms and
have a lovely patina on the oak frame. The webbing is finely woven
from animal hide. There is some distress to the weaving around the
top part of one of the snowshoes.
An amazing par of snowshoes for display or your collection!
